THE FLIPPIES 2020

Once Again, if you asked me to describe the year in Wrestling in one word, That word for 2019 would be: Upheaval!

It was the Year that Women main evented Wrestlemania for the first time...by systematically putting Becky Lynch on a Pedestal that was propped up by breaking the backs of every other female champion! It was the last year of the 3 decade long deal with Sky as Of January, the new home of WWE will be BTSports. IPW promised us a second season, IT DIDN'T HAPPEN! WOS Promised us a second Season; IT DIDN'T HAPPEN! It was the year Bray Wyatt took the straw that was the Firefly funhouse gimmick and spun it into championship gold. It was the year that wwe tried to be self aware with The Muscleman Dance and "BEEF!", Only to give WWE's Rivals ammo.

Rivals? Yes for once WWE had Rivals this Year, AEW is finding it's feet, despite Having ample coin. Major League Wrestling filled  Impact's role as the free alternative to WWE. And rising from the ashes, The NWA are The Phoinex that are guiding fans "INTO THE FIRE"!

Oh and Ring of Honour has it's British tv deal back after 12 years.
And it's clearly past it prime.
I Don't know what to feel about that!

So let's Start with our First Award:
WORST EPISODE EVER! (WORST MATCH OF THE YEAR)
SETH ROLLINS VS THE FIEND BRAY WYATT HELL IN A CELL MATCH FOR THE UNIVERSAL CHAMPIONSHIP-RED (LIGHTS) DEAD (GIMMICK) (NO) REDEMPTION!

Originally I was going to award this to the Joker's Wild Battle Royal Match At The Double or Nothing AKA #IRISHGETNOTHING  Buy in, So WWE had to do a lot to make sure that There Worst was Better than AEW's worst, if that makes sense! So To do that WWE did the unthinkable, They ENDED A NON-DQ, ANYTHING GOES MATCH....WITH A DISQUALIFICATION!
YEAH, SO HITTING A MAN WITH A COMEDICALLY SIZED HAMMER IS GOOD CLEAN FUN BUT HITTING HIM WITH A SMALL REAL HAMMER IS SOMETHING THAT NOONE SHOULD SEE!

NOT THAT ANYONE CAN SEE ANYTHING, MIND!

So add to the Spoopy-ness of Bray Wyatt's Gimmick the arena was darkened and the Cell was Bathed in A Red Light, Factor that the Cell is Painted Red also and the Spot light was passes through Diamond Wire and you have an unwatchable match, that only got worse as in Went on. The Crowd was Irate and i Understand, Imagine paying money to watch Wrestling and not be able to! The Crowd Turned On Rollins after this match, But if AEW wasn't too busy making sure only British People could buy their ppvs, i would have nailed Their Colours to my Mast!

Even worse was the reign of Mike Bennet, Maria's Husband, who's role in Wwe has being a role reversal from TNA...From using Maria as a Clutch to win EVERY! match by cheating, even ones that didn't matter, (to the point i started calling him MIZacle, instead of Miracle, You'd Remember!) to him being C*cked by his wife by taking her last name! and continued to be C*CKED by his wife by letting her pin him as the first (and please last!) Pregnant champion

Gruff-voiced and double tough, Harley race was the first United States Champion, and would set the benchmark early for greatness. Race would face the best in the world at the time, legendary feuds with Dusty Rhodes, and Ric Flair. Later on Harley would try his hand at managing, before retiring entirely, He said it best himself at his induction into the hall of fame! "There was no Better Place to be, than in the ring and under those bright lights!"

Chris Jericho is no doubt, having too much fun being AEW world's champion. So when he won the belt against Hangman Page, he grabbed the mic, to air his grievances, complain about being busted open and took us on a tour to the catering section where a rather pathetic spread was laid out for "Le Champion" He then turned his attention to an ice bucket full of Champagne, and that's when it happened!

After that strange impression of Jim Carrey, The phrase went memetic, and remixes and memes were made, (my favourite was remixing it with Mambo number 5) to the point that Jericho even went so far to launch his own Champagne line called unsurprisingly, A Little Bit of the Bubbly!

though if i must be honest, if the Khan Family (who are millionaires by the way) paid for better catering, Jericho wouldn't have lost his belt in that Steakhouse!)

Let's be honest! hate Brock for being Brock, Hate Vince for losing his Marbles, Hate the Elite for giving the likes of The Dork Order, Orange Cassidy and the best friends  worldwide attention,

I WAS SICK OF SETH ROLLINS! THIS MAN WAS EVERYWHERE IN 2019!
Not in the same way as MJF Who was Literally everywhere in 2019, But the problem is Seth is not a heel, he is the main Babyface, But the thing is Seth is never marketable, in my opinion, the shield was marketable, Roman being Rocky's Cousin was marketable, and after his battle last year with leukemia, has being hitting the talk show scene, Seth is uninteresting as a face and that Voice! THAT FUCKING VOICE! Has Seth being in good matches this year, for the most part yes, But Seth really took advantage of the Wildcard rule this year by appearing on both shows and really blurring the brand split!

What a year MJF has had in Contrast to Seth Rollins, a man with equal amount of exposure this year, while Seth was only in one company and one company only, he was spread thin with over to shows at the expense of smackdown's roster (HERE IS A WEEKLY REMINDER THAT SHINSUKE NAKAMURA EXISTS!) On the other hand over the calendar year, MJF has being in IPW MLW And AEW, if you were paying attention, these were all the other free to air options for British homes for wrestling, Meaning that if you seeked it out, MJF was coming to wider audience than wwe! Whether it was playing the bombastic obnoxious Yank in Britain's IPW, or Leading the Dynasty to MLW tag gold, or Biding his time to wrest The leadership of the Inner Circle to become top heel in AEW (JUST A MATTER OF TIME!) I  would not be surprised if it hasn't happened yet, AEW needs to sign him to a permanent exclusive contract!

So Renee Young's history making moment of being the first full-time female commentator at Mania was stolen by a revolving door of Legends, So Asuka's Smackdown Title reign was Slaughtered to make this match bigger than it was, And Yes The Poor IIconics and the fact they had title matches on Main FUCKING Event, Still wwe was going to give us a Women's main event at Mania and they succeeded at that Front. Would the match be better if they didn't have to crowbar Charlotte into EVERY. SINGLE. BECK LYNCH MATCH!
OF COURSE IT WOULD!
But in the end what started as a Botched heel turn would become the top tweener champion since Stone cold opened his first cold one!

I was a bit apprehensive of the Bayley Heel Turn to begin with, it looked like She was just being a Delusional version of her face persona not taking responsibility for her actions. then the switch off happened. the haircut and the destruction of her tubemen. Would I have loved to have seen an Attitude Era style Female Heel Turn where the female's Gear becomes Sexy? YES! But Black and Gold will do for now!

MOM THE VIGILANTE (BEST MALE MATCH)
KOFI WINS THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP!
So Kofi may have peaked harder than Face Miz this year, but until he was Fed to Brock Lesner (BECAUSE STILL PUTTING BELTS ON PART-TIMERS IS SUCH GOOD SHIT, PAL!) Kofi's Cinderella story to the title was sudden but damn wasn't it a wild ride! So, when Ali got injured before Elimination Chamber, Kofi took his Place and despite not wresting the title from Daniel Bryan, the Rematch was set for 2 months later in New at Mania 35! 11 years of Frustration of being called "Stupid! Stupid!" by a Dickhead! Of repackaging, it was all worth it, as Kofi surrounded by this New Day Cohorts and his two young sons, it was worth it.

Shame how it ended!

IPW 29/03/19-SEASON ONE FINALE

So, I didn't realize, or it never crossed my mind once that this show will have a season finale. Rest assured, that when Season 2 is Announced it will be me also Doing the announcing!

So With that Being Said, Let's get on with it!

After losing his Title Shot last week, the usually Mellow Rob Sharpe, was in a foul Mood, And For One lucky Keiran Donnelly, he became Unlucky very quickly!

Speaking of Foul Mood, Grizzly, The Welsh Wonder was Trolled by the English Crowd as they sang Swing Low Sweet Chariot at him (SIDENOTE FOR NON-BRITISH READERS: Swing Low Sweet Chariot is the Unofficial Anthem For the English Rugby team. Grizzly is Welsh. Wales Losing to England in a Sport they Invented IS SRS BSNSS!) And Grizzly destroyed Cali Gray in no time at all.

With the Undercard over it's time for one of 2 title Matches.

Pretty Deadly Won the IPW Tag Belts from Team Storm Members Andreas Corr and my first look at Ashley "Minesweeper" Dunne. Corr has the Muscle and Minesweeper has the speed, It was all Pretty Deadly Until the other member of Team Storm interfered, Until Lt. Joe Nelson of the former Champions the Anti-Fun Police, Took the belt from Corr to prevent a belt shot! Huwley and Stoker Got the win with the Steiner Bulldog and shook hands with the Anti-Fun Police, a Return Match somewhere down the line!

James Castle and Ben Basden was a double count out! On a Season Finale! We have no Confirmation date when Season 2 starts But it will happen.But come on! a cliff hanger?

And Finally Mask Haskins Lost the World Title due to a missed chairshot by Rob Sharpe. David Starr is the new IPW world champion.

And that ends Season 1 of IPW. I will be back Wednesday to give predictions on what is going to possibly be a 7-HOUR 16 MATCH Wrestlemania! Results of this will be up Next Monday. IPW 22/03/19: THE END OF HAVOC

1st it was PAC, This week we say goodbye once again, as Jimmy Havoc, who was IPW champion for 700 days leaves for AEW, We also have a battle Royal Qualifier and A number One Contenders Match for Sierra Loxton's Women's Championship In This the Penultimate episode of this season. More on that next week, when i hope to have more word after the broadcast!

We open with the former tag champs The Anti-Fun Police vs The Ojmo and Miles Caymen. this time trying their luck as heels. Santos picked up the win with a swinging Skull Crushing Finale, So that how that move should look like if Done BY AN ACTUAL WRESTLER, AND NOT A GOBSHITE FROM MTV!

Next we have a qualifying match for the International Battle Royal, a PPV-style event next Sunday(30/04/19) which is exclusive to their website, Follow @IPWUK on twitter for more Info, i won't be reviewing it, because i only review televised shows!

Ricky Knight Junior (the brother of WWE'S Paige) had a shock victory against last year's winner, Kip Sabian. If they are teasing a heel turn,  for Sabian, do it after he whoops Chris Ridgeway!

In the scheduled number one contenders match between Zoe Lucas and Jayde, Jayde was a np-show so out came the former champion, Bobbi Tyler who according to storyline was a bit of an Orcus on His throne, when she was champion-Barely putting the title up and that! Despite Zoe starting quick despite the shocking return from Japan! Lyons was no Match for Bobbi's Power and Craftiness. With an Armbar, the former champion will face The Welshwoman, Loxton at the International Battle Royale

Finally in a match between to All Elite T-shirts (Give me a British tv Deal for me to watch Double Or Nothing in two months Time, and maybe change my mind!) Jimmy Havoc faced MJF ,THE POORMAN'S EC3, Which is still considerately richer than most people! Maxwell Jacob Freeman (YES THAT'S HIS NAME!) Got on the mic to deride Havoc, Blah blah blah,  I'm richer than you, Hardcore is Dead, You are not on my Level, Basic heel promo, Then he tried to bribe Havoc with a fiver to lay down, Jimmy used the fiver to give freeman a papercut and then bite him in then newly caused wound!

Jimmy Havoc beat MJF in this testimonial match at IPW. Though MJF was no slouch in this match either, good heel work lots of power, and mugging,  the kind of thing you will expect from an archetypal  "Better than You" heel. He got his comeuppance when he spat at Havoc! Despite Following up the Disrespect with Powerbomb , a Package Driver and a DDT! Havoc decked MJF in the Love-Spuds and finished him with the Acid Rainmaker!

IPW 15/03/2019: RETURN OF THE PAC!

Deferred Reviewings of IPW this week, due to the Bank Holiday. But It's worth the wait! only 3 matches this week, but that's because our main event is 30 minutes long!

We open with 2 British Behemoths as Stixx Returns to face Rob Lynch in a titanic Struggle in the heavyweight title picture. Lynch continues his Roll as he won with a Big Boot!

Sitdown interview with Kip Sabian, saying he's too focus on Winning the World Title to care about Chris Ridgeway. FAMOUS LAST WORDS!

Tag match as Pretty Deadly faced Darius Lockhart and Sugar Dunkerton!

Pretty Deadly are sleeping on the Two. It started with Lewis Huwley entering the ring with Hands in his pockets and it just became a comedy match. a funny Comedy match but Pretty Deadly got the W!

Sitdown Interview with James Castle who has grown a moustche and goeatee in the last 7 days we saw him, Hashing out his annoyance with Ben Basden!

...And the crowd popped for PAC as he enters last! A crowd of 400 people in Canterbury, it sounded like 4000! Pac entering with the Dragon Gate Open The Dream Gate championship! Of Course i must point out that this match is not sanctioned by Dragon Gate, because if this match was a title unification? IWC AND WRESTLING TWITTER WOULD BE...

All 3 tie up, break and all try for drop kicks! Shoulder Tackle by PAC, Followed by a drop kick on Kip forcing Sabian out. Haskins on the outside Trips Pac as he was going For a Suicide Dive the Match has gone into the crowd! They Needed a ad break for the refs to get it under control!

The Match has returned to the ring, as Sabian was nearly pinned by Haskins! Pac in and Haskins soon has both in a submission Leg-lace on Kip, and Boston Crab on PAC! Kip Makes it to the ropes forcing Haskins to let go of Pac to punch Sabian. as every gets up! Pac whips Sabian into the ropes But Sabian Ricochets Back into a Beautiful Disaster Kick, Suicide Dive, Back in A stiff as This makes Pac and The Champ Work together. Shoulder By Pac Then a Standing Star Press. Sharpshooter By Haskins on a Prone Sabian. Sharpshooter on Pac by Haskins, making him a sitting duck for "Superbad's" Enzurgiri. German Release Suplex, Tornado DDT by Kip Sabian, and here it is, -Deathly Hallows Part 1! Only 2 THOUGH! Asai Moonsault by PAC lands on his feet, But he's just a jump away from the ropes, and here it Comes, The newly Rechristened BLACK! Arrow! But Haskins saves Kip, but more likely saves his belt! Running Drop Kick By Sabian. Still in the corner Sabian gets Haskins on the top ropes, DEATHLY HALLOWS PART TWO! But Chris Ridgeway Pulls the ref out of the ring, Sabian walks into the Haskins' Armdrag Powerbomb, The MADE IN ENGLAND!

WINNER AND STILL IPW WORLD CHAMPION: HASKINS!

IPW REVIEW 08/03/2019-SMARK KENT!

You are Most Welcome to my Review of International Pro Wrestling, The newest Televised Promotion on the block! We had a change of scenery as we are now in Canterbury, in the shire of Kent! We have a Great show, but now as great as next week's! more on that later!

Johnny Storm after beating The Anti-Fun Police for the tag team championship last week with help from the Bone Brothers, lead the 3 in his corner against the youngest member of the AFP, Cadet Joe Nelson, who will be on a shortlist of who to look out for in British wrestling in the next 3 years! Nelson subdued the Bones and was about to pin the veteran Storm, but the Bones interfered and caused a dq! Out came Pretty Deadly to break it up!

So the Pretty Boys and the Anti-Fun Police...ARE BOTH FACES?


Another sitdown interview with The returning Rob Lynch, Next week he faces another Returning wrestler Stixx, we will hear his thoughts later!

Women's Championship as Sierra Loxton vs Dani Luna, who has smeared lipstick and a bottle of Whiskey! Dani, Lauren Van Ness Called, SHE WANT'S HER EVERYTHING BACK! Sierra won with her Hip attack, the BUTT-erfly Effect!

Next was a squash match between Dave Mastiff's former partner in 5starwrestling! Grizzly, who made short work of Dexter Cliff, with the Grizzly End the Welshman's version of Moose's Go to Hell!
Sitdown interview with Stixx, it's being 5 years since he was in an IPW Ring, but he was dealt with Lynch Before, and Next week will be no different

Junior Division tag Match and without a champion there is a lot of tension even with partner's. In a hotly contested and Technical tag Match, despite mistrust and words afterwords, Ben Basden, the number one contender to Harada's Belt, should he return, and his partner Chris Ridgeway defeated James Castle and Curtis Chapman who still don't trust each other, For those following asking why Kip Sabian wasn't in this match because he's feuding with Ridgeway, well, I'll get to that later!

Number one Contender's Rematch against Rob Sharpe and David Starr Started well for the Pink haired Sharpe, But the American spat at him and Sharpe lost it, going into the crowd to get a chair! As Sharpe ran it enraged, Starr Rolled "Filthy Gorgeous" up and stole the number one contenders belt from him!

Starr's match will have to be somewhere down the line.

Due to St Patrick's Day being a National Holiday here in Ireland and a Bank Holiday on the adjacent Monday on the week it's held, I will not have Results until next Tuesday!

IPW REVIEW: 1/03/19-HE BLINDSIDED ME, WITH SCIENCE!

We start with commentator Ricky Slater Welcoming us to action, he announces that tonight we have a tag team championship, and in 3 weeks, before reporting to Atlanta, PAC makes his return to IPW!

But before that we have this!

Ben Basben, number one contender to the Light heavyweight belt held in Japan by Harada, who looks like a Bryan Danielson circa 2003, made quick work of Maverick Mayhew, Whose High flying moves was quickly ground by the former MMA and Jiu-Jistu fighter.

Video Package of last week's Attack by David Starr on Rob Sharpe. No idea where the champion Mark Haskins' fits into this!

A Sit down interview with Dr Luke Phoenix, bitter about his injuries holding him back from the recent light heavyweight tournament, and he is not happy that the belt is no longer in Britain! He also blames the fans for making him weak, and that he will beat Castle tonight by making him angry that he relies to much on Emotions, and Dr Phoenix relies on something more powerful than Fan Belief, than Emotion and that thing is....


David Starr faced Kieran Donnelly, who started the match Cursing out Starr, IT WORKED AS WELL AS YOU THINK! Donnelly was about to tap to The Black Arm-bar, But out comes Rob Sharpe as a distraction, Donnelly gets the roll-up win and after the Match, Rob proposes that he and Starr have a Number one Contender's Rematch for next week! A pissed off Starr angrily agrees!

Backstage Interview with the IPW tag team champions, The Anti-Fun Police...who are the faces in this match! Santos, a huge Luchadore has come back from an Ankle Injury!

Another Sitdown interview this time With David Starr about what we just saw in the last match


It took 7 men, and a handful of powder, but Johnny Storm and Andres Corr are the new IPW tag team champions, after Storm exploited Santos Injured Ankle in a Stretch Muffler!

Dr Phoenix who wears a labcoat and an apron, really has the heel mannerisms down, he really looks like a creep! Was Defeated by a fired up James Castle.

Next week Starr/Sharpe 2 and all the fall out from the tag team title match, plus a whole lot more!

IPW REVIEW: 22/2/19: DUCKY, IN THE HUNT, GETS DOGGED!

Hello and welcome to my new series of reviews, starting every Monday (or Tuesday after the bank holiday or Major PPV!) Of the new British Promotion International Pro Wrestling! This is the 3rd week of tapings, I didn't catch week 1, but last week convinced me to make this my new obsession.

With That Out of the way, lets Begin

As a new Company with wrestlers that are making their tv debuts, IPW has done the clever things of having a sit down interview Cold Opening to tell the story to a new audience. This week Rob Lynch, Formerly of the London Riots tells us his struggle to return after his shoulder injury, how he went from sleeping in bus shelters and The Underground to splitting with his fiance to pursue this as a career.

First Match, World of Sports "Superbad" Kip Sabian vs "The Super Contender" Curtis Chapman, I heard a lot of terrible ring-names in my Natural, But "Super Contender?" in a world full of egotiscial names like "The Best in the World" or "The king", Might as well call yourself "Have-A-Go Kid" or Some Shite! Nice Technical Back-and-forth, With Sabian Picking up the win with the Deathly Hallows, Part 1. After the match, Sabian gets on the mic to send a message to former friend Chris Ridgeway, who attacked him in Episode 1-"I'M COMING!"

We get a video Package of a Handicap match from Episode 1 between Lewis Huwley and "Sexsmith" (Sorry his first name was never mention nor was he on this show!) vs Sammie "Smooth" Stoker. If there was doubt that Lynch had nagging Injuries in his shoulders, this match silenced it! Lynch looks like OWENS AND WRESTLING LIKE HIM TOO, breaking out Flying clotheslines and Moonsaults, after a few escapes from Jaxson, Lynch finally capped it off with a Gutwrench Powerbomb.

IPW ANNOUNCEMENT: NEW COMPANY MAKING BIG WAVES!

As Mentioned on my Twitter Account (@RealEnli) i was so impressed with episode 2 of International Pro Wrestling on Friday night, that i have decided to review every show on Monday (Tuesday in light of Bank Holidays) This will take the place of Impact PPVS since they think it's "really cool" to take views away from Irish And British Bloggers, from showing ppvs 7 days after the fact. This will also take the place of my Second Hand Smoke Series of ppv results of shows i didn't see first hand,Though i will also post a separate post on the Monday after a major ppv.
