THE STREAK: A RETROSPECTIVE OF UNDERTAKER AT WRESTLEMANIA

this numbers drum up feelings of excitement in wrestling fans as Undertaker as he nears his 2 decade tenure in WWE. but are the matches any good? well join me as we walk down memory lane.
a little key to start with i will mention along with Mania number,a up or down in regrads to the year before,his alignment and how the match was won.
1.
vs Jimmy snuka (N/A, Heel, WM7 Pinfall)
The Superfly was his first victim snuka was far from his prime but this was a good match.
2.
vs Jake the snake (down,Face,WM8, Pinfall)
again another wrestler past his prime but jake was in terrible shape but it was to get worse..
3.vs "Giant" Gonzalez(down,Face,WM9,Dq)
vs Wrestlemania 9 has got to be the worst mania ever! case in point takers opponent a BASKET-BALL PLAYER AND NOT A WRESTLER! at least Vince didnt hire strippers and model to bulk up his womens division and give his tag and us belt to a gobshite from MTV right?
oh.
Moving on!
4 vs King Kong Bundy(up,Face WM10,Pinfall)
what difference a year makes. wm2 Bundy had a title match,the year after that a tag match with..Midgets?
again Bundy was past his prime but at least he was better than the year before!
5 vs Diesel aka Kevin Nash(up,Face,wm12 pinfall)
the taker rose from the dead and smashed through the glass ceiling to met Nash( who just happens to be the best friend to the champ. taker became a main event competitor in the eyes of management because the next year...
6 vs Psycho sid Visious (up,face,wm13,pinfall)
the 13 mania is consider to be the second supercard in the franchises history. a young Dwanye Johnson took his first awkard steps towards stardom. Austin bled for the sport that he loves, and taker bet sid to capture his second wwe championship!
7vs Kane for the first time(up,face,wm14,pinfall)
Kane was one of wrestlings most anticipated debuts in wrestling. the"brother" of taker. the some-times rival sometimes tag partner was taker opponent at 14. the match was a success even if the rest of the night wasnt it!
8vs the big boss man(down,face,wm15,pinall)
the attitude era ia here! and taker is struggling the sport is told to "be real or get edgy" Taker does this by simulating Hanging a police man!
yeah! and you wonder why wwe gets a bad press!
9 vs triple h(Up,Face,wm17,pinfall)
by now Taker has changed he hangs up the hats and clock and is dressed in biker clothes. he comes out on a bike instead of the death-march in other-words we are seeing the man behind the gimmick! and in his home town of Houston, hhh is beating all over the reliant area!
10 vs Ric flair (down,heel,wm18.pinfall)
NEXT!
11 vs A-train and Bigshow(down,face,wm19,pinfall)
this was supposed to be a tag match against the above and with Nathan Jones.but was taken out. in the end the assist from jones had taker pin a-train
12 vs kane for the second time(up face wm20,pinfall)
the Deadman is back! the old gimmick is mixed with the new moves as the gimmick is new life breathed into it!
13vs Randy orton(up,face,wm21,pinfall)
legend vs legend killer. orton was too cocky and taker defeated him! but orton got the last laugh later that year!
14 vs Mark Henry(down face wm22,insertion in the casket)
KOOL-AID!
so taker won this match but mark henry is a plodding 400 man with all the speed of a tetonic plate. and the coffin was so big you could put a steinway in there!
15 vs batista(up,face,wm23,pinfall)
taker won his first world heavyweight belt that night against shitista!
16 vs edge(no change,wm24,submission)
Edge tried to stack the deck in his favour, but a win for the phenom was in the cards!
17vs shawn Michaels for the first time (up face,wm25,pinfall)
the match to end the last decade. this was a match you could show non-fans and say "this is why i love wrestling"

introducing a seperate blog
during my results of hard justice post(great show by the way) i mentioned some-one called Joe-Jack and that i had something special planned. well i'm doing a second blog of reviews of terrible films called Bogger Box Office! so Joe-jack is yes a carector i created my first review will be tonight of Dance flick so enjoy because i wont!
