Symphonic Smackdown Part2:NO DLC BULLSHIT HERE! THE REAL STREET FIGHTER X TEKKEN!

Last year the world of fighting games was swept up in a hype hurracaine not seen in years, all over the launch of what was believed to be a dream match. The World Warriors that are the cast of Street Fighter, Versus those who strive to be King Of The Iron Fist-Tekken.

Not only did th game become a glitchly mess, Mis-Intreputation of Tekken Charecters drew the ire. But the real slap was the Extra Charecters on DLC, For those who don't habla Nerd, Capcom did not write cheat codes into the disc to unlock, they expected people to pay more for a game they just bought. Why?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoYWdHe4tQ4
As much as people feel let down, it's up to me to rise them up with this special on the sublime music of both franchises.
First a note.
Since both franchises have lots of charecters, It's only fair i make this a top 10Versus. Using WhatCulture's top 10 street fighter post, I've paired them with the tekken charecter that matches style, personality and tropes.

ROUND. 1.FIGHT!
RAISED BY ANIMALS RAVE
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kt10iWCcQN4
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZWXAGtrVK0
BLANKA VS KUMA(SFII VS TEKKEN 3 THEMES)
Of course a bear would be raised by animals! No it's not a stretch!
Without any formal training Blanka would feel right at home in a match against Heihachi's Pet. As far as themes go Blanks's more animalistic with it's Bongo Beat. While Kuma has the same instrument, it's more fits the fact he's "tame", A factor to why he never won any tournament.
WINNER: STREET FIGHTER

ROUND. 2. FIGHT!
BRUCE LEE CLONES
IT'S LIKE A FINGER POINTING AT THE STARS!
FEI LONG VS FOREST LAW (SFII THEME VS TEKKEN 3 THEME)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6lgiG6Vz54
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4LCr2fyx6I
If Bruce Lee was alive today, he would be proud of these homages, in fact I defy you Amv makers NOT to make a tribrute without these tracks. it can't be done. While Fei's theme sounds like it came from a kung fu film, his just flows while Laws crashes.
WINNER:TEKKEN

ROUND. 3. FIGHT!
AN ARRESTING CONFLICT!
CHUN LI VS LEI (SF IV VERSUS TEKKEN 2 THEME)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWk3Pm6M3-I
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yaMfUER2unA
When SFXT Vita webisodes implied that the above where cop partners, The entire fanfiction sphere probably blew up with origin stories where both were on the beat, But in a beat battle, Chun li wins out. And in the end, Lei's Five Style is no match for Chunbuns Murderous Thighs.
WINNER:STREET FIGHTER.

ROUND.4.FIGHT!
COLD WAR CLASH!
GUILE VS DRAGONOV(SFII HD VS STALKING WOLVES)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9s_s0bTgOlI
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XS5HFTplZBc
Strictly Speaking, Dragonov doesn't have a theme but this background was used in offical artworks to introduce Sergei. It hard to decide, If they played this over Syria, Assad would shit their pants! But both are Equally Good
DOUBLE KO! DRAW!

ROUND.5.FIGHT!
MATADORIAL MASH UP!
VEGA (CLAW TO AVOID CONFUSION!) VS MIGUEL (SFII VS BARCALONA STAGE)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ze0MgmwMgAU
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Rn0PKC4lac
Oozing Spanish Flare are these accoustic Belters, But one must ask if fireworks over a Spanish City is a good Idea in the tekkeniverse? Because the last time rockets were launched in spain, It didn't turn out well for Miguel. Or his Sister.
WINNER:TEKKEN

ROUND.6.FIGHT!
GENOCIDE NEVER LOOKED SO GOOD
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waQgq3zHf3g
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGnXCNvsHQ4
NINA VS CAMMY(TEKKEN 2 VS SFIV THEMES)
It's the cryogeneticly frozen I.R.A agent versus the british soldier cloned from Bison's D.N.A., intended to be his bride (ewwww!) While you think i'd big up my country, I'm still stinging over Nina not getting an Irish accent while non american tekken charecter got V.A.s to speak their native tounges. Plus, DAT ASS!
WINNER: STREET FIGHTER (AND DAT ASS!)

ROUND.7.FIGHT!
KICKBOXING BODYGUARDS WHO HAD FACE TURNS!
SAGAT VS BRUCE(Tekken 2 vs SF IV THEME)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcmQ3-ut-n0
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZ3LBQgf5QA
Talk about your specific clashes!
Bruce's theme, a rehash of 1's baseball stadium, doesn't fit him and it's being used to advertise baseball as stock music. I have no idea what instruments were used in Sagat's theme but more power to Capcom for using ethnic music like this.
WINNER: STREET FIGHTER

ROUND.8.FIGHT!
HEROES WITH DARK SIDES
RYU VS JIN(SFII VS Tekken 3 theme)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hO7JEqIPQv0
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcLPL8cPQ-8
It's the hadoken vs the Lightning Screw uppercut, As the (sometimes!) Heroes of their respected franchise go at it! Ryu's theme wins no question it's just too well known.
WINNER:STREET FIGHTER

ROUND.9. FIGHT!
RIVAL'S VERY OWN RIVALRY
KEN VS PAUL (SFIV THEME VS TEKKEN 3)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhsEJvQzT7M
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mqi3mWudD8E
Is it just me, or is Ken theme slowly turning into Ryu's theme? At least Paul has kept his identity even it is slowly turning in to a Joke charecter!
WINNER: TEKKEN

FINAL.ROUND. FIGHT!
IN RUSSIA, BASS DROPS YOU!
ZANGIEF VS JACK 2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnnbLMCZAXc
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-v-G5ez69xc
It's the final round between Russia's two biggest hombres. Zangief The bear-piledriving Hero To All Children vs the Jack Model-2, The Artifical Man.
Sound like a precussor to dub-step. Jack's theme contain's metal percussion, drills, switches and his very own Kai. Impressive, But it'll take soething to beat This Theme like the bear of a skull like a walnut!
And That would be Jazzy Russia the fan nickname for Zangief's new theme. Maybe because it sounds like it doesn't belong in fighting game that it's perfect for a fighting game. People like to be surprised!
OVERALL WINNER:STREET FIGHTER 7-4*

*IN an event of a drawn round a point was given to each side.

Symphonic Smackdown part 1: top 10 wwe themes.

As an art form, Music has permeated all human thought and existence, and why not? People have used it, not just to earn money, but to convey feelings and to change to mood in storytelling. it's no surprise that music is something that is enjoyed and debated on equal measure, but so are Wrestling and Video games.

This month on the Enlightened Page I will be celebrating the niche in the Venn diagram when Wrestling video games and Music all seemingly unconnected Mediae, interact.

First. a few comcensiouses
This is strictly entrance Music only, no ppv themes or music from any promos, so sadly no mention of Placebo's BRILLIANT Version of Running Up That Hill. Also no classical, public domain or ethnic music. on the other end, no songs by professional bands that appear on their own albums, not ones released by wwe.
so lets start the countdown with...
NUMBER 10
BRAY WYATT'S THEME "LIVE IN FEAR" (BROKEN AND IN LOVE) BY MARK CROZIER AND THE RELS
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1r38RZnUfYE
Quickly bolting from nowhere, is the eerie and quickly memetic theme of the equally eerie and memetic Bray Wyatt. Just listen to that bassline and not think of a fog rolling in on a river. It just invokes unease. Speaking off unease just listen to Crozier's lyrics. he describing someone who is not of the norm. also the guitar solo badass in it's self combined with subtly with A Capella? Nice!

NUMBER 9
BIG VAN VADER'S WWE THEME "MASTODON" BY JIM JOHNSTON
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHlMSqG8Fmk
While Wyatt's theme is reserved, this is loud and bombastic. Johnston, wwe's Maestro, Had a cameo in the documentary beyond the mat, where he played an acoustic piece of this track. he said of the piece,
"It has a slow, heavy beat to it, like the footprints of a mastodon.
Infact that's the imagery I always had when hearing this theme! the shrieking chord is a roar from it's trunk, and the body of music is it's destructive march. I always thought that the part at 0:40 is the "camera" panning away to see the ruin it has created as a warning of "behold my power, fear my strength!"

NUMBER 8
KANE'S FIRST THEME "THE BURNING FLAME" BY JIM JOHNSTON
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6OxGXcdxCY
Before becoming an immobile slab of meat and the resident walking depush, In all of 1997 we were told of the imminent arrival of Kane, the hype reached it's climax when the first Hell in a Cell was taking place in that year's Survivor Series. When the lights went down, an Organ's Dirge scared everyone and if that didn't get the attention, the pyrotechnic flames which now have lost their shock value, did the job also.

NUMBER 7
GOBSHITE FROM MTV'S THEME "I CAME TO PLAY" BY DOWNSTAIT
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHezEyZ5pRk
You know that I hate Miz just as much as I hate Cena. But for a Poser who makes David Arquette's Reign as World Champion look like Bob Backlund's in comparsion, his theme fits his character, and the lyrics fit him as it's saying "I know I suck, but I'm Getting better!"

By the Time Miz does Gets into the Hall of Fame, the Earth will probably be destroyed by an asteroid or something!

NUMBER 6
JACK SWAGGER'S THEME "PATRIOT" BY JIM JOHNSTON
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7G2wJUIa8So
Earlier this year Jack Swagger returned and when he did, he left the gawky Southerner demeanour and clean cut mannerisms at the wayside. This was a mature and more aggressive Swagger, something I believe was always in him. In addition to Growing the Beard(literally and Actually) he gained his theme. Any Military-style music should stir up the blood and this does the business.

NUMBER 5
DEMOLITION'S THEME BY JIM JOHNSTON AND RICK DERINGER
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4aS1Xfb6ckE
To prove this month's point that music has some influence over other media, When wwe introduced "yet another Road Warriors-Rip-off" this theme accompanied them. The track was so popular that the fans wrote in, demanding that the teamed turned face just so they can hear the song when they won. and it worked the team held the tag title for 14 months, a record that still stands!

NUMBER 4
THAT OLD HACK HOGAN-"REAL AMERICAN" BY JIM JOHNSTON AND RICK DERINGER
The Survivor front-man strikes again, this time with the theme that defined an era! the Exposure that Hulk Hogan had turned a Square-Jawed Italian-American Jobber with a Limited Moveset into the Face of the company.
Sound Familiar?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKzEKdY3eo0

NUMBER 3
FANDANGO-"CHACHALALA" BY JIM JOHNSTON
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H35--R8Jptg
This year the world went mad! Well, madder!
Last winter I groaned with disappointment when I read that SenileVince had created a new gimmick of a ball room dancer. and when it was announced that it was Johnny Curtis the man who won a title tag title shot that everyone forgot about, I facepalmed so hard i was bleeding! So when he bet Jericho in what i thought was a fluke, the next night on raw this happened.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsL8V-TDMFA
Everywhere on the internet everyone was fandangoing, they placed it at Old trafford, DJ'S made remixes, AVICII' Of all people made samples from it, and it became the #1 download in most of Europe! Not bad for a "joke",huh?

NUMBER 2
STONE COLD-"BROKEN GLASS" BY JIM JOHNSTON
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gwEzysrU_k
From the minute a crowd hears that sound effect all hell will break loose. After hearing that the rest is a bass beat that drops like the man has nothing but bad intentions, Frankly it could has done with the glass but then it wouldn't have solictited a huge reaction. But, like many have said on YouTube, When you hear the glass, It's your ass!

AND FINALLY...THIS...IS....
NUMBER 1!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_XOVh-cDtk
UNDERTAKER "THE DEATH MARCH"
Okay, I'm Breaking my own rules here, but this is not the "actual" deathmarch, it's a remix of it. For 23 years, the evergreen and completely youthful for his age 'taker has terrified his opponents for 2 Decades. When the 'taker comes down to this, and it's a surprise appearance, It's Brown Trousers for any heel in the ring. At ppvs, the true power of this tune comes into effect when the druids, and special effects like dry ice, Lightning and Flames come in. It become what the theme was for, a procession. For 23 years Taker has faced everyone who came and went through wwe's doors in that time. So in the end Much like death, a match with the Phenom became inevitable.

NEXT WEEK (I HOPE!)
PART 2, NO DLC BULLSHIT HERE! THE REAL STREET FIGHTER VERSUS TEKKEN!

TNA QUICKIE: THIS'LL BE GOOD FOR A LAUGH! WOMEN! WRESTLING!

I joke, I'm joking! Besides the major mismatches between veterans against rookies, this was decent tourney!

It kicked big time as two of the sport's greatest, Gail Kim and Alissa Flash (aka Cheerleader Melissa) put on A spectacle of hold and counter hold. top match to start. Gail won her spot in the main event.

In a Rematch of a rememberable Gut check, Lay'D Tapa used her 2 mont-I mean Years Expererence to defeat Ivelise Ferez, Though Ivelise had a great showing. Tell me Again why Dixie didn't give her a contract?

Making an Impressive showing also was the newcomer Mia Yim, she faced Tara (at time of recording this, Tara was under contract). But a stillted Distraction from GOBSHITE FROM BIG BROTHER! (How do you botch a Distraction? How stupid must you be to botch a Distraction?)
Tara was the 3rd women in the main event?

Another match, another Mismatch, as Brooke Tessmacher (at time of recording, was still a face!) Defeated Santana in a yawn-fest!

In a match of Powerhouses, O.D.B. Defeated ECW Hanger-on Trinity.

In the first real challenge of her young carear, Taryn Terrell was bested by the Founding Mother of Wrestling, Jackie Moore. Didn't like the finish though, a Basement Dropkick, Really? That's your Finisher?

Triple threat match as the recently fired Taeler (Yes that's how TNA spelt it. B-COZ PUR LITARA-C IZ....KEWL!) Hendrix and the legendary bad attitude of Sojo Bolt Jobbed to Hannah Blossom of the British Boot -Camp runners up The Blossom Twins. The former Teaching assistant from Manchester used a Big Boot (really?) as her finish.

Velvet Sky defeated Jillian Hall who seemingly after a breast reduction is literally half the women she use to be. Hall complete Carte Blanche of the Match after her shit singer gimmick, she put on quite a show. Hall can be a shoe-in, if they let her drop WWE gimmick.

The final qualifier was Serena Deeb vs Mickie James (at time of recording, James was a face and Knockout champion she made her entrance without said belt and there was no mention throughout) For those asking, Serena's hair has grown Back, But not enough that she's unrecognisable. It was a great match but Mickie seems to developing her own 4 Moves Of Doom!

All the winners of the above matches met in a Guantlet match. In the end, Gail Kim cheated to win over Mickie James. Gail celebrated with a Heavily Pregnent Madison Rayne (At time of Recording she was. She has since given Birth!)

Well that's all the wresting for this month. There will be NO WWE results until Janurary unless I announce ofterwise on Twitter. Follow me on twitter@saveusPOE  Or search TGWTGEamonn on twitter.
Symphonic smackdown part 1 will be up next week, Until then, Peace!
