Bursting onto the scene as vampires(yes really), they dropped that to be themselves, this was the attitude era, as gimmicks were now their personality up to eleven. The attitude era was great as it took risks with everyone, because WWE Had real completion at the time. And so after matches with the Hardys and ladders and with the Dudleys with Tables, every time 2of the 3 met it escalated. So what was done? In the very event where it was introduced, the ladder match had evolved! incorporating E and C's Chairs and the Dudley's tables. this match stole the show!

It would come to no-one surprise that the above match was a tough act to follow! but the WWE championship had a subplot: the phoney baloney divorce to distract form the real-life marriage that year. Yes in what could have being the strangest circumstance, Acting like they were married made them fall for each other (Just wait til Vince Dies, and out comes news of Pre-Nupt on PWPIX!), BUT NOW, Hunter bit the had that fed him, and Steph and Hunter were arguing over their property including a dog, which was ran over and killed (kayfabe) by Chris Jericho, who conveniently was Steph's new client. With the air drained out by the Hogan/Rock Match, no one could care less.

MICHAELS VS JERICHO-THE OLD LION RISES TO THE OCCASION!
The 1st wrestlemania under the wwe banner and under the brand extension, Wrestlemania was an event filled with 1sts. for Shawn Michaels, it was his 1st in nearly a decade. facing him was the man many called the unofficial protégé of HBK, Chris Jericho. It was Lawler who used the analogy above describing Jericho as a young who challenges the old lion to a fight. this insight plus Jim Ross' legendary call, elevated this match, but truth be told this match would have no commentary and still be enjoyable!

Okay for a major milestone-Wrestlemania 20 was a little flat, I said it myself during review of it in my special last year-"WRESTLEMANIA XX-X YEARS LATER" but you couldn't have asked for a better debut in a fun little match like this-Flair doing the rock bottom and swivelling around going "yeah,yeah,yeah!" like a crazy person, cracks me up every time!

WWE Forgettable Generic PPV 2015
Just like your badly Xeroxed local paper or school meals, this is the quality you get if make something no-one wants for free!
Well, so much for a Big Show face turn, looks like we are in for a long winter! Seriously Big show and Kane change alignment so much, you can set your watch by it. Big Show interfered with a Knockout Punch as Kane had Ziggler in a Bear-Hug, The immobile slab of meat getting the pin was a big "FUCK YOU!" to the IWC! Then Blandy Bore-ton returned and took out the UH-Tority!
Next was Stardust Vs Goldust-With Cody making an alteration to his costume, he only wears the Pants of the jumpsuit and whitens his face with red blusher and black lipstick, as if he didn't look like Tim Curry before! this match will divide opinion, many would saw that they were tentative, i like to say that they were telling a story! Goldust won but the count was so sloppy, you think it was that black ref that does the divas matches! Cody attacked Goldy backstage ...and they are doing it, they are rehashing Black Reign and using Cody instead of Dustin, he even said "we are not Cody, we are Stardust!"
Twitter exploded last night! Because we have new Tag Champions-the team dubbed by fans as the Masters Of the Universe-Cesaro and Tyson Kidd-Are finally getting a push-Of course-it's mania season and the tag champ will in either the Andre or a dvd extra match in 5 weeks, BUT FUCK IT! A WIN'S A WIN!
So the Worst kept secret is out-HHH Will Face Sting at Wrestlemania PLAYBUTTON! Seriously Vince, if I was a casual fan and they asked what number mania it was this year, I wouldn't know from your logo!
Nikki Bella retained against Paige-All I can say is-DON'T BE A HYPOCRITE, WWE! BE A STAR!
So Next was Wade Barrett vs Dean "TittyMaster!" Ambrose is a completely unwatchable mess! Barrett retained via DQ
And in the biggest Match of his Career, Alexander Rusev defeated Cena via Referee Stoppage! was the crowd angry that the Russian Flag draped Memphis, NOT AT ALL! They were chanting "Thank You Rusev!"
Finally Daniel Bryan carried Roman Reigns to a loss. I told that this would happen, they are used Bryan incredible work ethic and talent to make Roman look strong, to quote the meme, So in 5 weeks Roman will be the one to take the belt from the Guy who doesn't give a shit about Wrestling, and frankly that's all that matters!

Even Jerry Lawler, who was cheerleader supreme to every heel on commentary during the 90's broke Kayfabe to put his two cents on Austin's tenacity.

Updated schedule-FAST LANE IS BACK ON!
Well, it's being a confusing 4 days for all us wrestling fans in Ireland and the U.K!
The mass consensus was that this year all the ppvs are on sky box office, which was fine, I don't watch all the ppvs and prior to this year, some ppvs were shown on the sky sports channels for free (well as long as it was subscribed, but you get the idea!)
Now, I said that because Fast Lane was showing in-between two must see events (the royal rumble and Wrestlemania), that there was no point in wasting my money on a show that no-one will remember in a years time.
Sunday.
I flicked onto Sky Box Office events, I wasn't going to see it first hand, but I at least was going to a predictions post.
No Previews.
I clicked on the Box office button on my remote
"NO PROGRAMME OF THIS TYPE"
I Phoned Sky Box office.
(Disconnected Tone)
I waited until midnight, that night after reading tweets and texts from wrestling fans as confused as I was, some even claiming that the event was pulled because they wanted all the sky customer to buy their network.
Midnight happened and I check by 7-days programme guide for Sky Sports 1 all the way to 4 (5 being a soccer channel) and it was not there.
I was saddened by this. I thought was let down.
Yesterday, I was still angry. for some reason I had raw on the telly. the ad for Fast lane came up. this time an English voiceover was added. "only on sky sports 1"
I checked my viewer with baited breath, Seemingly overnight they had updated the programming and improvised a shoddy voiceover to confirm that show was now free!
so here's the announcement, finally!

I waited until midnight, that night after reading tweets and texts from wrestling fans as confused as I was, some even claiming that the event was pulled because they wanted all the sky customer to buy their network.
Midnight happened and I check by 7-days programme guide for Sky Sports 1 all the way to 4 (5 being a soccer channel) and it was not there.
I was saddened by this. I thought was let down.
Yesterday, I was still angry. for some reason I had raw on the telly. the ad for Fast lane came up. this time an English voiceover was added. "only on sky sports 1"
I checked my viewer with baited breath, Seemingly overnight they had updated the programming and improvised a shoddy voiceover to confirm that show was now free!
so here's the announcement, finally!

But all night, wrestlemania had being the business end of the bad-luck streak, many matches changed or having rushed finishes, this was no different, but the Skill and Psychology was there-even if time wasn't!

Ok WWE'S Mania in Caesar's Palace in Vegas really crapped out-the only dq win in the streak against the Prototype Khali-Giant Gonzales, the crush/Doink match, but it has to Hulk Hogan coming and Fuji making the challenge on behalf of his tired and worn out new champion, Yokozuna after he had his match against Bret Hart! not only did Hogan win the match in 2 minutes flat, he only went and buried Hart and Yoko in 1 fell swoop!

THE LADDER MATCH FOR THE IC BELTS: STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN!
Back when the IC Title meant something, the secondary belt was but on guys that wwf believed were going to be the next big things in the world championship picture! and even those who didn't: fought with all the pride and passion of a world champion and became hall of famers and legends anyway (Tito Santana springs to mind)
But in 1994, their was scrutiny on who was the ic champion as two wrestlers had a belt each: 2 Friends turned rivals-Shawn Michaels vs Razor Ramon. but this wouldn't be your standard match, what was devised by Michaels would be a match considered to be too good waste on a small belt-but thank god we got it anyway-the ladder match for unified ic belts! a decade later and the ladder match would further evolve in front of the Showcase Of The Immortals-but lets look at it's fledgling outing now!

BESTleMania/WorstleMania 1-5
Hello and welcome to part 1 of 6 of my crib-notes on the 30 years of Wrestlemania. I would like to point out that for most of these paragraph are my own opinion and also mostly text-mainly because wwe has a habit of erasing 2nd and 3rd party videos of their videoes and programming!
but February is going a wrestling drought so I plan to hype up Wrestlemania as much as I can.
BESTLEMANIA! 1: THE SHOWCASE OF THE IMMORTALS IS BORN!
Once upon a time, Vince McMahon was a visionary, and in his grand vision was a world-wide event but the problem was the new medium of Cable television, Vince McMahon had BETTED HIS ENTIRE CAREER INTO HIS DREAM, And it paid off! Overnight Madison square garden became a mecca for wrestling fans, and the shows in New York are considered to be the point where a wrestler "makes it"
WORSTLEMANIA 1: TITO SANTANA VS THE EXECUTIONER AND KING KONG BUNDY VS SD JONES!: ALL LEGENDS MUST START SOMEWHERE!
Seriously who books a squash on their marquee event? *coughDIXIECARTER!cough*
BESTLEMANIA 2: THE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: BRITISH BULLDOGS, BRUTUS BEEFCAKE,A BRUISER AND A BAT-EATER!
Okay WMII Sucked but at least their was some good matches! the tag team championship was a hoot, as Greg Valentine and Hogan's Man-Bitch, Brutus Beefcake dropped the belts to the British bulldogs in the best match of the night! the real talking point was in the Brit corner was none other than Black Sabbath front-Man Ozzy Osbourne, who has appeared many times since!
WORSTLEMANIA: CELEBRITY SATURATION-WILL VINCE EVER LEARN?
There was celebrity involvement in the 1st but it was subdued in comparsion, I don't who that Susanne woman who kept saying uh-oh on commentary and I could care less 28 years later!
BESTLEMANIA 3: THE SLAM HEARD ALL OVER THE WORLD!
In 87, Bobby Heenan was untouchable! whilst in the past he was all talk, he could now back it up, with the acquisition of a shocking heel turn, Andre the Giant, the tete-a-tete on Piper's Pit is legendardy television as the 8th Wonder of the world tore off Hogan's shirt and cruxifix, causing Hogan to bleed from the scratch from it, this lead to this Moment in time that will live on forever...

WORSTLEMANIA 3- SHIEK/VOLKOFF VS KILLER BEES-BREAK HIS BACK AND FAHK HIS ASS!
The long feud has started here but it really started and came out years later when Shiek was accused by Brian Blair as a Peado (completely untrue and Blair himself was convicted of attacking his own son!)

HULK WHO? ANDRE THE WHAT?
The next year the wwe championship was in abeyance, and a tournament was made for mania, for the 1st and only time in it's history. after the above match last year it seemed like a lock that either will win. Until a double countout changed all that! the final was 2 of the all-time greats but both overlooked in their generation, Randy Savage vs Ted DiBiasie. The 2 had a match for the ages but in the end Savage won, and held the title until the next Wrestlemania

EVERYONE DOESN'T LIKE BOB!
Bob Ueker, the statistically worst baseball ever, turned play-by-play, is only here because at the time, no-one in Europe had Baseball matches blasted onto tv because no-one wanted them! Was I the only 1 to Wish that Andre choked him harder this time?

The Mega Powers explode!
Savage got to the top, but when he did, his paranoid nature that was evident backstage and got him in trouble later in wcw, started to bug him-firstly accussing His wife of letting Hogan doing his 5 Moves of Doom on her! However they put Savage's real-life Paranoia, Elizabeth's Real Life Sluttiness, and Hogan's Real Life-WELL THE FACT THAT HE'S HACK HOGAN!-Aside a put on a decent match!

RED ROOSTER VS BROOKLYN BRAWLER FOR 31 SECONDS
NUFF SAID!
Join me next Friday as we enter the 90's- we see the birth of the Streak, The worst mania EVER, And the 1sr ever ladder match!
